Nielsen Brandbank works closely with local charities, providing financial and physical donations to organisations that represent those in need.

In 2016 we raised £46,824 for charity through staff raffles and other fundraising activities.

Norwich LEAP

Founded in 2008, LEAP (Learning, Employment & Accommodation Programme) seeks to help those from homeless and disadvantaged backgrounds by working with them on a one-to-one level, providing coaching services, work experience and training programmes, as well as helping them secure independent accommodation.

Nielsen Brandbank’s food donations not only allow us to save money on ingredients for our cookery programme, but feed our Training Academy’s students, who due to their backgrounds probably wouldn’t have had a decent meal that day.

Nelson’s Journey

Nelson’s Journey is a charity dedicated to supporting bereaved children and young people throughout Norfolk. In 2015 alone they received referrals from over 630 children in Norfolk needing support after a special person in their life had died. Nielsen Brandbank regularly donate food and gift items for their fundraising events or for the children they support.

The money that we have either raised or saved, thanks to Nielsen Brandbank’s support, has been over £1,500, since Nielsen Brandbank started donating goods to us just over 12 months ago. The support from Nielsen Brandbank is absolutely fantastic - they have given us products that we never would’ve been able to afford to buy, or unusual donations that we wouldn’t have known where to find. It’s one of our favourite local partners to work with!

Norwich Foodbank

Norwich Foodbank support local people in crisis by giving emergency food parcels to people referred to them by local care agencies.

We are a Foodbank Collection Point and provide Norfolk distribution centres with fortnightly donations of non-perishable items sent in as samples by our supplier customers. We're really grateful that Nielsen Brandbank support our work with donations of non-perishable items. Since July 2015, Nielsen Brandbank have donated 5,641kg of food to us: that’s enough to feed 750 people for 3 days each. We have been delighted with the quality and quantity of the items we receive.

RSPCA Norwich

The RSPCA Norwich works hard rehabilitating and rehoming animals that have been removed from unsuitable homes, or that have found themselves unowned through no fault of their own.

We are always grateful for your kind donations for the animals in our care, and for providing items for our fundraising events throughout the year. During RSPCA week last June, we were also appreciative to have two Nielsen Brandbank volunteers assisting our staff selling cupcakes to local businesses.

Leeway Domestic Violence and Abuse Services

Leeway is a specialist domestic abuse charity that provides advice, support and information to anyone who has been or is currently experiencing domestic violence. They are currently supporting 8,000 adults, children and young people every year in Norfolk. Nielsen Brandbank sends regular food and gift donations, most of which is given directly to women and children affected by domestic abuse.

We are so appreciative of the constant donations Nielsen Brandbank provides. Often the women we support have had to leave everything behind and have no money of their own, therefore, the food that Nielsen Brandbank donate means that the women can provide for their children. This year Nielsen Brandbank has also donated Easter eggs to the refuges which allowed us to put on an Easter egg hunt. It’s thoughtful donations like these that really make a difference to those we support. Thank you Nielsen Brandbank!

The Benjamin Foundation

Last year, The Benjamin Foundation helped nearly 2000 people in Norfolk through the many challenges life throws at them, from ‘everyday’ problems such as childcare, to homelessness and abuse. With regular donations of product samples and funds, we help kit out the many accommodation centres for young homeless people across Norfolk.

We have received great support from Nielsen Brandbank over the last couple of years. Their donations of food and household items have been shared out around many of our services across Norfolk for young people. This includes young people living in our accommodation who would otherwise be homeless; among others, Nielsen Brandbank’s support means we have been able to give them a ‘welcome pack’ of basic items when they move in with us.

Volunteering – Global Impact Day

At Nielsen Brandbank, we encourage our employees to get involved in charitable causes whenever they can. Each year, Nielsen associates across the globe dedicate a whole business day to lead activities where we lend our professional skills, or simply offer a helping hand in our local communities.

Nielsen Brandbank volunteers spent the day cleaning up the beach at Sea Palling. This year the team filled over 36 bags of rubbish and also found half a canoe and two plastic fishing trays.

Break is a local charity that provides children’s home and support for children with disabilities. Nielsen Brandbank associates helped out with gardening duties and decorated the outside play equipment.
