Last week, Co-op unveiled a brand new online delivery service that uses electric cargo bikes. With a trial taking place in nine London stores, it is the first time the grocery retailer has offered online deliveries via a dedicated website, shop.coop.co.uk.
At Nielsen Brandbank, we are delighted to announce that Co-op have chosen us as their product content provider to power their new online delivery website. Working with Co-op since 2014, Nielsen Brandbank captures high quality product images and full back of pack product data to be displayed online, providing an enriched online shopping experience for Co-op customers.
The new service will initially be available to shoppers within a 4km radius of the store on the Kings Road in London’s Chelsea, before being rolled out to a further eight London stores. Orders will initially be fulfilled using electric bikes which are human powered but include a zero-emission electric motor for assistance.
There is a £5 delivery charge and a minimum £15 spend, while products will be priced the same as in store. With a range of 1500 products available to order, including alcohol, between the hours of 9am and 10pm Monday to Saturday and 11am and 5pm on a Sunday, the new delivery service offers a convenient and flexible way of shopping.
